Many of you will be giving the SAT Reasoning Test a first shot in
December. Most importantly, remember that surveys of colleges consistently
show that "strength of program" (how demanding and advanced the classes
are that you have chosen to take) and "performance in class" (your teacher
comments and grades) are considered before standardized testing. For most
of the colleges you will be thinking about, they also consider teacher
recommendations before they consider standardized tests. As well, your
commitment to the community, your athletics, and many other pieces will
play in. Finally, there are more and more excellent colleges who have made
submitting standardized test scores completely optional.
All that said, if you find yourself with some free time and wanting to
play on the computer and perhaps benefit from that play, check out
www.mystudentedge.com . This is the test prep program SAS provides free of
charge to all students, and many have reported it to be helpful. The
registration code (if you did not register last spring when we met about
this and other resources) is BRNPGHMY . Have fun, and email or come down
with questions.
Thanks! Mr. G
