Increasing Scholarship Chances

A Word of Warning: Scholarship Scams
Identifying Scholarship Scams

These articles explain how students can identify and avoid scholarship scams.

These articles are in the “Pay for College” section of the Advice Center, under the “Scholarships” heading.

Taking Quick Quizzes

If students aren't sure which standardized test to take or if they want to see if they're ready for a full-length practice test, encourage them to try StudentEdge's Quick Quizzes.

Many of the tests available in the Prepare for Tests section have corresponding Quick Quizzes that students can use to get familiar with the tests.

Each Quick Quiz allows them to answer sample questions and see detailed explanations. They'll get to try several of the different question types that will appear on the test.

StudentEdge Access Codes - Do's and Don'ts:

  • Do provide the access code to students through e-mails and home room communications.
  • Do hang your StudentEdge posters (with the access code) throughout the school.
  • Do share the access code with parents at back-to-school nights and other parent-attended events.
  • Don't post the access code on your school's website. This allows anyone viewing the site to access StudentEdge, which limits availability for your students.
  • Don't hesitate to contact your account manager if you have any questions about protecting your school's access code.

We encourage all schools to use their school Website to let families know about StudentEdge. Your school site is a great place to describe the program and post the URL. Just make sure students are directed to contact someone at the school to get the access code rather than providing it on your website.
