PSAT for Wednesday

Dear V Formers:
On Wednesday morning you will be taking the PSAT in three different
locations. See below for where your section of the alphabet is
assigned. You are to go to regular sign-in breakfast and then at 8;00 am
head to these rooms:
Aja - Liebold are in the small gymnasium
Lichenstein - Quist are in Amos Lecture Hall
Schechter - Zendt are in the Gahagan Room

What to Bring:
You should arrive with several sharpened #2 pencils and your calculator.
You may not share calculaors. You may also want to have a watch so that
you can monitor your time on each 25 minute section. If you have access to
your social security number you should also aquire that information and
bring the number with you on a slip of paper. If you cannot locate this
information you may leave that section blank.
What you should know in advance:
The PSAT is a practice test for the SAT and it is used as the qualifying
test for the National Merit and Achievement Scholarships. While you should
not stress over this test, you do want to do your best, as it will give
you a benchmark of how you will test on upcomign SAT's. The test length is
2 hours and 10 minutes and it consists of Critical reading and Math. We
recommend that Tuesday evening you try sections of the practice PSAT
located in the bulletins you were given before long weekend. Please be
familiar with the layout and timing of the test. IMPORTANT: you should
only answer those questions that you can feel you have a pretty reasonable
chance of getting correct. For example if there are 5 possible answers
(A,B,C,D, E) and you can eliminate at least 2 of these as obviously wrong,
then it makes sense to proceed with your best guess.
If you have any questions about the test or procedures please come see one
of us before Wednesday.
